Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers for families exploring home care options.

We know choosing home care can feel overwhelming — especially when it comes to costs, funding, and what’s included.
Here are answers to common questions families ask about home care and financial support in Alberta.

What services do you provide?

We offer personalized non-medical care including personal care assistance, companionship, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation for errands or appointments, and pet walking. We also specialize in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, support for individuals with disabilities, and care for Canadian Veterans under the VIP program.

How much does home care cost in Alberta?

Home care costs vary depending on the level of support, hours of care, and specific needs. At TrustBloom, we’ll walk you through a clear hourly rate and help you design a plan that fits your budget — no surprises, no hidden fees.

Is financial help available?

Yes. Several programs can help reduce your out-of-pocket costs for private care:
• Veterans Independence Program (VIP) – for eligible Canadian Veterans.
• Alberta Health Services (AHS) Private Services Directory – connects families with approved private care providers.
• Tax Credits & Medical Expense Deductions – home care costs may qualify under the Canada Revenue Agency’s medical expenses.

And there are many more..

We’ll gladly help you explore all options you may qualify for.

Is there a minimum number of hours required?

Yes — because we need to ensure caregivers have the time to provide quality, unhurried care and meaningful companionship.
This allows us to maintain a higher standard of service and consistency for every client.

What is the VIP Program?

TrustBloom Home Care is proud to be an approved VIP Service Provider.

The Veterans Independence Program helps eligible Veterans remain independent by covering services such as housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care, and grounds maintenance. If you or a family member is a Veteran, contact us — we can help you apply and coordinate your services and billing directly through the program.

Can TrustBloom help in hospitals or residences?

Absolutely. We provide in-facility and hospital support for clients who need extra companionship or personal assistance during recovery, transition, or respite periods. Wherever care is needed, we’ll be there.

How quickly can care begin?

Once we understand your needs, care can usually begin fairly quickly.  We’ll meet with you or your loved one for a personalized in-home or on-site visit to build a plan that feels right.

Are your caregivers trained and insured?

Yes. All TrustBloom caregivers undergo background checks, reference screening, and training in safety, personal care, dementia awareness, and professional conduct. We are fully insured, and caregivers are covered by Workers’ Compensation (WCB).
